Baby Monitors

Why do I need a baby monitor? What are they for and are they for me?

Babies are a bundle of joy and are so special to us but can be hard work too. At baby’s sleep time you will need a rest but you will worry about what to do with the baby. If you keep them in the same room as you, will you really get a rest?

So how can we have this precious time to ourselves whilst looking after our baby?

Using a baby monitor will make your life so much easier as baby can be laid to rest in their own room whilst you carry on doing other things elsewhere in the house.  You may want to rest, eat, watch TV or go out into the garden.

You will be free to do whatever you want using a baby monitor to allow your baby to sleep in another room but with the knowledge that they are being safely watched over. You will be able to have more time to yourself while your baby monitor is safely looking after your infant.

Baby monitors are the “eyes and ears” that will safely watch over your baby whilst they are asleep. Choosing the best baby monitor for you is an essential part of the process so choose wisely. By looking at some baby monitor reviews you will be more aware of what is available and what is best for you.

Essentially there are 3 types of baby monitor: audible, video and movement detection. If you simply want to listen to you baby then the cost effective audible unit will be fine. However if you get more comfort in watching and well as listening then go for a video baby monitoring unit. The baby movement detector system will monitor your baby’s movement within the crib. If the baby does not move within a certain time such as 30 seconds, the alarm will sound for you to attend.

Baby monitors are essentially 2 units which are the transmitter and receiver. The receiver unit picks up the baby’s noises and is kept close to the parent whereas the transmitter is positioned quite close to the baby.

There are many types of baby monitor and the most popular type is the wireless or cordless type baby monitor. These used to suffer from interference but this is now virtually a thing of the past due to advancing technology.
